Utility has been selected as a recipient of a Department of Energy (DOE) Voucher administered through Energywerx. This award entails Utility working with Johnston Engineering, located in Spokane, Washington, which is the service provider for mechanical testing of cells and cell assemblies. The work to be performed will include test fixture design and build, testing and data collection. A detailed article on the award program can be found on the DOE website here.

In partnership with Energywerx, the DOE offers support to increase adoption readiness of new technologies through selected Voucher Providers (to include National Laboratories and private sector entities) and facilitating the identification and matching of capabilities to Voucher Recipients seeking support in overcoming their energy adoption challenges.

Our Advanced Technology Center is critical in the delivery of commercial systems. This project will enable Utility to further advance commercialization of the eXERO gas production technology and perform the required mechanical component testing more expeditiously with an expert partner.

Utility’s Advanced Technology Center in Denver, Colorado will collaborate directly with Johnston Engineering and the project is expected to get underway at the beginning of the new year.
