The new CEO of a Houston-based hydrogen and syngas company plans to take it from demonstration to commercialization. Parker Meeks has been chosen to lead Houston-based Utility Global Inc. He is succeeding Claus Nussgruber, who will remain on as a strategic adviser. Meeks started engaging with Utility when he became the chief strategy officer of Illinois-based hydrogen fuel cell truck company Hyzon in 2021, he told the Houston Business Journal. He later became CEO of Hyzon in 2023. What attracted Meeks to Utility was its ability to make hydrogen profitable, when so much low-carbon hydrogen production right now relies on subsidies and tax incentives.
